The term meat and animal derivatives is a generic term for animal protein which avoids having to specify where the protein comes from. For example beaks and feathers are classed as protein despite being an indigestible protein making your pets internal organs work overtime to deal with it and at the same time producing more waste.  Derivatives of Vegetable origin is another loose term used to disguise all manner of hidden ingredients like vegetable residues and even charcoal.

EC permitted additives, used to hide a list of over 4000 chemicals, many of which have been banned from  human foods due to health concerns, like E110(sunset yellow) and E102(Tartrazine)

Hyperactivity, Bad Behaviour, Aggression and Skin or Coat conditions could be attributed to the ‘hidden’  ingredients in the food that they are given.

A lot of Pet Food Manufacturers carry out invasive testing procedures on dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
